LAHORE A 55-year-old man died in Mayo Hospital on Thursday. The man was found unconscious in Naulakha police limits a few days ago and admitted to the hospital. Police said the man seemed to be a drug addict and might have died due to excessive use of drugs. ACCIDENTS: At least 597 accidents were reported in Rescue 1122 Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which seven lives were lost and 462 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals. However, some 225 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot. TRAFFIC: Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) has appointed 13 more inspectors and 495 wardens in the wake of young doctors’ protest. CTO Tayyab Hafiz Cheema visited Jinnah Hospital, General Hospital, Fatima Memorial, Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital and Ganga Ram Hospital and ordered SPs and DSPs to improve traffic arrangements. He asked them to use all available resources to maintain uninterrupted flow of traffic. He ordered DSPs to patrol and check their circles unless the protest ended. He asked SPs to visit their divisions on regular basis.
