Thirty-five former Nazims and councillors of the PML-N and the PPP and 27 trader organisations’ office-bearers announced joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in a meeting with its Punjab Organizer Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Saturday.
Addressing the politicians from Sheikhupura including Haji Ahmed Khan Virik, Azeem Virik, Ch Fayyaz Ahmad and PPP’s Ch Nishan at their joining ceremony, Chaudhry Sarwar said the corrupt had no right to do politics and they should be sent to jail instead of assemblies.
He said no force could stop Punjab becoming the forte of the PTI. He said the rulers were fast losing their support among the masses. PTI Punjab deputy organise Omer Sarfraz Cheema, PTI Sheikhupura district organiser Kanwar Imran Saeed and other party workers and supporters were present. Chaudhry Sarwar said the PML-N and the PPP were themselves responsible for their downfall as they had set records of corruption and failed to provide relief to people in their tenures. He said people of Pakistan wanted to get rid of the corrupt rulers and wanted to see them behind bars.
