ANF recovers drugs worth Rs910m

Rawalpindi In 12 operations across the country, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 22 kilograms of heroin, 315 kilograms of charas, 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine (ice) and 800 psychotropic tablets, the ANF Headquarters said. During these operations, the ANF arrested 13 persons, including 3 female drug traffickers, and impounded one vehicle.

In 12 operations across the country, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 22 kilograms of heroin, 315 kilograms of charas, 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine (ice) and 800 psychotropic tablets, the ANF Headquarters said.
During these operations, the ANF arrested 13 persons, including 3 female drug traffickers, and impounded one vehicle. The value of recovered drugs is approximately Rs910 million in international market. Most of the recovered heroin was destined for abroad.
According to details, ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a suspected passenger named Asjad Iqbal, resident of Gujrat at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad. During search of his luggage, 78 Heroin filled capsules, containing 530 gram Heroin were recovered from his luggage. The accused intended to board for Greece via Doha.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team during routine checking at Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road Attock, arrested a woman drug carrier named Laila Shaheen, resident of Gujrat and recovered 2.5kg Charas from her possession. She was arrested from a bus bound for Gujrat.
ANF Rawalpindi Team during search of a van at Chungi no. 26, GT Road, Rawalpindi, arrested an accused named Muhammad Irshad resident of Batagram and recovered 8kg Charas concealed in his bag. As per initial investigations, he intended to deliver the drug to a local drug peddler at Rawalpindi.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team in an operation carried near Mullah Mansoor Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock, arrested a drug carrier namely Muhammad Adnan resident of Peshawar along with recovery of 5kg Charas, found in his personal custody.
The accused was arrested from a van heading towards Rawalpindi.
ANF Lahore Airport Team during routine checking at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore detained three passengers including Aamir Ashiq, and two women namely Ameer Beghum and Ghouria Farhan, residents of Lahore on suspicion of smuggling drugs. The search of their luggage resulted in recovery of 11.3kg Heroin, which was concealed in their bags. They intended to fly for Colombo by Etihad Airline flight EY-240.
ANF Lahore intercepted a Canada bound parcel containing women shirts at DHL courier office, Gulberg, Lahore and recovered 300grams Heroin concealed inside the packing.
The said parcel was being dispatched by Naveed Ahmed resident of Kasoor and was intended to be received by Samuel John, residing in Canada.
ANF Lahore Airport team detained a passenger identified as Zahoor Ahmed resident of Sargodha at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore on suspicion of carrying drugs. The detailed search of his trolley bag led to recovery of 600gram Methamphetamine (Ice).
The accused intended to take off for Jaddah by Shaheen Airline flight NL-717.
ANF Lahore Airport Team intercepted a passenger identified as Sakhi Bux, resident of Dera Ghazi Khan at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 1kg Methamphetamine (Ice) which was concealed in his bag. The accused intended to board for Jaddah via Dubai by Emirates Airline flight EK-623.
ANF Peshawar Airport team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Anwar, resident of Mardan and recovered 3kg Heroin concealed in his bag and laptop. The accused intended to fly for Dubai by Emirates Airline flight EK-637.
ANF Karachi Seaport Team seized 18kg Heroin from a container at Karachi International Container Terminal. The container was destined for Malaysia and Heroin was concealed in furniture items. One individual named Khurshed present near scene was also taken into custody for investigation.
ANF Karachi Road Check Team intercepted a double cabin Toyota pickup registered no. 8858 near Govt Physical Education College, Sukkur and recovered 300kg Charas concealed in improvised cavities of the vehicle.
A person on board namely Muhammad Asif, resident of Karachi was also arrested during the operation.
As per initial reports, he was transporting the drugs to Karachi city for local consumption.
ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine profiling at Jinnah International Airport, held a Bangladeshi national namely Naseem Hassan for carrying 800 Psychotropic (Ritalin tablets). The accused was boarding for Dhaka by PIA flight PK-266.
Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective police stations and investigations are under process.
