‘PEF to achieve 100pc enrolment target by 2018’

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) is playing a leading role in materialising the educational vision of the chief minister to ensure 100 per cent enrolment by regularly extending its free educational programmes and helping the poor to send their children to PEF-sponsored schools in Punjab.
PEF Chairman Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja stated this while addressing the school partners at district coordination meeting held at Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium on Tuesday. The heads of school attached under the PEF’s Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) in 14 different districts attended the meeting.
Qamar-ul-Islam Raja said the foundation was working hard to help achieve the targets of 100 per cent enrolment by 2018.
He said PEF had strengthened the low cost private schools through different useful interventions so that the students could get quality education in congenial atmosphere.
He asked the school partners to motivate the parents to send their children to schools as only education can help break the shackles of poverty and ignorance.
Seminar: Virtual University’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) arranged a seminar on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education” in collaboration with King Edward Medical University (KEMU) at video conference hall of KEMU on Tuesday.
According to a press release, Virtual University (VU) Rector Prof Dr Naveed A Malik who speaking on the occasion emphasised that quality culture should be promoted to enhance quality in education and to meet the challenges of competitive environment.
He said higher education was supposed to be enabler of the economy so the quality of higher education and research played a vital role to compete globally.
UET fair: The first-ever Industrial Open House and Career Fair 2015 of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held at the varsity’s New Auditorium Complex on Tuesday.
According to a press release, Sikandar Mustafa, MD Millat Tractor, was the chief guest of the Career Fair 2015 who along with UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid inaugurated the event. The VC said job placement of the UET graduate along with internship programme was our agenda.
