LAHORE
ELECTION Tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik Tuesday fixed May 30 for cross-examine of Nadra chairman by both parties in election petition filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan regarding alleged rigging in the constituency NA-122.
Previously, National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) had submitted its forensic reports of PP-147 and NA-122.
Regarding PP-147, Nadra had stated that 54 percent polled votes of the constituency could not be verified due to poor quality of voter’s fingerprints. The Nadra revealed that 40,155 votes cast in the constituency were unverified.
The PP-147 is the constituency from where PML-N Mohsin Lateef, nephew of Kulsoom Nawaz had won the elections bagging 36,781 votes by defeating PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui, while total 74,251 votes were polled.
Regarding NA-122 report revealed that only 73,478 out of total 184,151 cast votes in constituency NA-122 could be verified which made that 60 percent of the polled votes were not recognisable. Moreover, there were 6,123 used counterfoils having invalid CNIC (never issued by Nadra). Imran Khan had challenged the victory of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in NA-122 alleging that massive rigging was made in the constituency from where Ayaz was elected as MNA.
