LAHORE
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) on Sunday announced deputing newly-recruited 16 subject specialists to its partner schools in 10 different districts in Punjab.
According to PEF spokesperson, these subject specialists would teach the subjects of science, mathematics and English to students of the schools partnered with the foundation under its Subject Based Support Programme (SBSP) which is launched to provide master degree holder subject specialists to help improve the overall academic standards of these low-cost schools which are mostly situated in slums or in remote hinterland where students mostly cannot afford admission in elite institutions.
In this regard, an orientation session was held at Punjab Education Foundation head office on Sunday to sensitise the newly-appointed subject specialists about free educational programmes and their role in it. On the occasion, they were also given appointment letters.
Punjab Education Foundation Managing Director Dr Aneela Salman has congratulated the subject specialists and hoped that they would work hard to give quality education to their students. She said SBSP was very useful in arranging quality education for the students.
It also helps in fostering new educational concepts to them, she added. Education Foundation Director Bushra Saeed Khan also spoke on the occasion.
