CIA police arrested seven persons, including a woman for smuggling girls abroad.
The arrested human traffickers were identified as Munawar Bibi, Nawaz Naveed, Suhail, Zahoor Ahmad, Javed and Waqas. Police recovered seven girls from their possession.
WOMAN DIES: A woman succumbed to her burns in a local hospital on Sunday, 15 days after she was set on fire by her husband in the Ghaziabad police limits.
The deceased was identified as Sadaf, wife of Malik Ali. Police said the victim had been set afire by her husband almost 15 days back over a domestic issue. She was admitted to Jinnah Hospital where she yielded to her burns. Recorded her last statement, the victim had accused her husband and brother-in-law of setting her on fire. Police shifted the body to morgue.
HIT TO DEATH: A youth was killed by a speeding bus near Domoria Pul, Naulakha on Sunday.
The victim was identified as 1st year student Hamza. Police said the victim was crossing road near Domoria Pul when a rashly-driven bus ran over him. As a result, he received fatal injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital where he expired. Police shifted the body to morgue.
ACCIDENTS: At least 658 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which seven lives were lost and 524 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 248 minor injured were provided first aid by Rescue 1122 on the spot.
FLAG MARCH: Mujahid Force and Elite Force Sunday held a flag march with an objective to maintain peace and protect the churches in the provincial metropolis.
About 150 police officials of Elite Force and Mujahid Force and around 12 vehicles participated in the march. The flag march passed through Sherpao Bridge, Cantt, RA Bazaar, New Airport, Askari 10, Joray Pul, Salamatpura, Shalimar, Garhi Shahu, Railway Station, Lorri Adda, Minar-e-Pakistan, Mall Road and culminated at Qurban Line.
ARRESTED: Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 27 criminals and recovered 12,475gram charas, 2,500gram opium and 112litre liquor from their possession.
PHP arrested Bashir, Akash, Nawaz and Ashraf on charges of snatching Rs20,000 in cash from a petrol pump in Khushab.
PHP arrested Saddam Hussain and Ghulam Murtaza, Ghulam Rabbani, Ilyas and Abdul Rauf and recovered 12,475gram charas and 2,500gram opium from their possession.
PHP arrested 14 persons and recovered four pistols, 160kg dead meat, one dead buffalo, two stolen cattle, stolen wood worth Rs20,000 and a stolen car (3393/LRF). PHP arrested four persons for using liquor besides reuniting six missing children with their families and rendering help to 4,395 travellers on highways.
