A 40-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in the Raiwind area Sunday.
Police said the man identified as Shafqat was depressed due to some domestic issues and unemployment. On the day of the incident, he locked himself up in a room and ended his life by hanging himself with a rope. Police handed over the body to the family.
WOMAN MURDERED: A mother of two children was murdered in the Shera Kot area on Sunday. The victim was identified as Rani Bibi, 25, wife of Munsha. Police arrested the victim’s paramour from the spot who was later identified as Iqbal.
The arrested man Iqbal, who served as Munsha’s driver, told the police that Rani Bibi eloped with her almost eight months back and both started residing in Yousaf Nagar Shera Kot. He said Rani had been murdered by her brother Khalid who was also staying with them. He said he was not present at home at the time of the incident. Police shifted the body to morgue and registered a case against Iqbal and Khalid on the complaint of the victim’s brother Tariq.

The arrested robbers of the first gang identified as Ejaz, Allah Rakha and Usman confessed to committing 26 robberies in various parts of the city. The arrested members of another gang identified as Jawad, Aqeel, Farman and Jehangir confessed to committing 35 robberies in different parts of the city.
