LAHORE
Following special directions by the Director General, Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer, in collaboration with the civil society, NGOs, educational, and governmental institutions observed the “Rescue Earth Day” on Wednesday by organising the awareness activities in all the districts of Punjab.
The initiative aims at making joint efforts to make the safe communities tackle climate change by creating the awareness among the general public about the impact of environmental pollution due to excessive energy consumption which is making this Mother Earth polluted and perilous.
Director General Dr. Rizwan Naseer said on this occasion that the community participation in the Earth Awareness Walk was a symbol of ownership by the community and if joint efforts were not made on priority basis by the general public, media, and corporate sector to “Rescue Earth”, the community would be victimised for environmental emergencies in the upcoming years.
He appreciated the rescuers and volunteers from different organisations to arrange this “Earth Walk” to make general public aware through seminars, plantation, and extracurricular activities to build the safer communities by adopting preventing measures and promoting green culture in Pakistan.
He said the Rescue 1122 welcomed the community volunteers to join hands with the Emergency Service for Safer Pakistan.
