A 30-year-old woman died on Saturday at Mayo Hospital through the alleged negligence of doctors.
The woman was identified as Zarina Bibi, wife of Asharf of Gujarpura.
“Due to negligence by the doctors, our patient has died,” family members said, adding that a probe into the matter should be initiated by the hospital authorities, so that the doctors behind the alleged negligent death could be punished.
Later, relatives of the patient created ruckus at Mayo Hospital.
They chanted slogans against the doctors and smashed windowpanes of the hospital emergency. Upon being informed, the police rushed to the scene and arrested three protesters.
CCPO: CCPO Lahore Captain (r) Mohammad Ameen Vance has said the code of conduct for Cantonment Board’s elections to be held on April 25, will be implemented in letter and spirit and stern action will be taken against those who resort to firing and brandish weapons without any discrimination.
Addressing candidates contesting Cantonment Board elections on the topic “Code of Conduct for Cantonment Board’s elections” at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh on Saturday, the CCPO said that any violation by candidates or their supporters belonging to any political party would not be tolerated.
He said that the police would utilise all resources to maintain law and order and conduct peaceful elections.
DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that the police would take quick actions against people who were found involved in firing and brandishing weapons.
The DIG said the code of conduct issued by the Elections Commission would be implemented in letter and spirit.
