ABOUT 99 Unfair Means Cases (UMCs) and five impersonation cases have been registered against candidates by all the nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) of Punjab during the ongoing matriculation (Class 10th) annual examination 2015.
According to a spokesperson of the Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen (PBCC), a total number of 2267,000 candidates are appearing in the said examination and the UMCs per board include BISE DG Khan two, Faisalabad 23, Gujranwala 24, Lahore 19, Multan five, Rawalpindi three, Sargodha 14 and Sahiwal Board nine while three impersonation cases at Faisalabad, one at Lahore and one at Multan.
PBCC Chairman Dr Muhammad Nasrullah Virk, who is also a Chairman of BISE Lahore, has directed all the chairmen to make necessary arrangements for the strict supervision of examination centres so that examination system can be made transparent.
Meanwhile, the paper of Pakistan Studies was conducted in 4,937 examination centres of all the nine BISEs of Punjab on Tuesday.
Four arrested: FIA in raids on illegal business of hundi/hawala arrested four people on Tuesday.
The first raid was conducted in Badamibagh area and Majid Hameed and Yasir Abdul Razzaq were arrested for their involvement in illegal business of hundi/hawala. The FIA team recovered Rs 2485,000 in cash besides recovering receipts and cheque books. A case was registered.
FIA conducted a raid Lunda Bazar and arrested Imran Akbar and Juma Khan. A case was registered against them.
suspended: SSP Investigations Rana Ayaz Saleem suspended Sub-Inspector New Anarkali and ordered action against him on Tuesday.
According to a handout, after listening to both the parties during the change of investigation board meeting, SSP Investigation checked the case files and suspended Sub-Inspector New Anarkali Muhammad Boota on conducting faulty investigation.
SSP said police officers were to pay attention while on duty and not to cause problems for citizens. He said strict action would be taken against officers who neglected duty and troubled the citizens.
Autopsy: Cantt Investigation Police have yet to conduct an autopsy of three terrorists killed in an encounter in the Burki Police limits two months before.
Burki Police registered an FIR No 8/15 against the accused on January 10, 2015.
Sidique, Incharge Investigation Batapur Police, said there was no more network of terrorists related to these terrorists. He further said they were waiting for the family of the accused to contact them.
When asked about the efforts by police to contact the family, he said that news of the death of the accused was published on national media so the families should themselves contact them.
Three terrorists were reportedly killed by the CIA Police Cantt Division on the early night of March 10 on Burki Road in an encounter. Efforts were made to contact the SP Investigations Cantt but to no avail.
Minorities: Member German Parliament Christoph Strasser and Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan Dr. Cyrill Nunn along with a three-member delegation met Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu on Tuesday. Matters of mutual interests were discussed in the meeting.
Khalil Tahir Sindhu briefed the German delegation on the Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Department Punjab. He also informed the delegation about the steps taken by the Punjab government for the welfare of minorities and permanent allocation of five percent quota in jobs. He said there were deep-rooted relations between Pakistan and Germany which were further strengthening with the passage of time.
German Member Parliament and Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Christoph Strasser and German Ambassador Dr. Cyrill Nunn lauded the cooperation between the two countries and expressed the hope that trade relations and bilateral ties would be further promoted. They appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government for the welfare and betterment of minorities.
