THE festivity revived after over a decade’s period continued at the provincial metropolis with people thronging Fortress Stadium to witness National Horse & Cattle Show here on Friday.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was the chief guest on the second day of the national event. The day once again highlighted diverse cultures and traditions of Pakistan together with different games and sports and participants applauding the efforts to organise the event and the performances.
Among many of the day’s prominent attractions included beautifully drawn map of Pakistan by the young participants of the National Horse & Cattle Show and camel mounted band of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) which enthralled the audience.
The visitors also enjoyed a lot events like motorcycle trick riding by Military Police, tent-pegging, cavalcade of livestock, horse riding, horse dance, dog race and a German Shepherd (trained by Pakistan Army) crossing a ring of fire, PT show and national songs besides floats depicting culture of every province of the country.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the first session of the day Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah termed it a historic moment and greatly appreciated the organisers especially Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Sindh Chief Minister appreciated all the items presented in the show and particularly mentioned army band display and horse riding. He thanked Shahbaz Sharif for inviting him on this national event.
Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said the event attracted people from across the country who expressed their love for Pakistan. He said civil-military institutions were struggling together to bring peace in the country. He said holding National Horse & Cattle Show after 11 years’ gap was a big achievement.
He appreciated the efforts of district government and particularly mentioned Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Khan Sumbal and District Coordination Officer Lahore Capt (r) Muhammad Usman and others.
