LAHORE
JI chief Sirajul Haq Saturday said the party is waging Jihad against poverty, ignorance, price spiral and unemployment in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the JI woman wing Shoora, Siraj said welfare of the people and provision of basic requirements to them was the foremost duty of the government.
He said feudal lords, political pundits, the legacy of British colonists were the biggest hurdle in the progress and development of the country.
He urged the JI women wing to make systematic efforts to ensure that JI’s message reached every household in the country.
He said the JI would soon hold women conferences, youth conventions and workers rallies for passing on its message to these circles.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at Mansoora, JI women wing president Dr Durdana Siddiqui said the International Women day (March 8) would be linked with the names of Ummahatul Momineen (RA), the revered wives of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and in this connection, an Ashra (ten days period) from March one to ten would be observed in the name of Syeda Khadijah (RA).
Dr Samiha Raheel Qazi, Member of the Islamic Ideological Council, and President, Women and Family Commission Pakistan, Begum Ra’na Fazal, Mrs Aamina Usman, Begum Aisha Syed, and Dr Humaira Tariq were also present.
Dr Durdana said during the Ashra Syeda Khaadijah, a campaign would be launched at national level to impress upon the womenfolk to lead their lives in accordance with the golden teachings of Islam. She said during this period, the women would be urged to take Syeda Khadijah as their role model.
She said it was a matter of deep concern that western and Hindu culture besides materialistic thinking was spreading in the Muslim society and there was a conspiracy to wipe out the Islamic civilization.
The first Women convention would be held on March 8, at Football ground, Wahdat Road, Lahore, and would be addressed by JI ameer Sirajul Haq and other party leaders.
