LAHORE PAKISTAN Awami Tehrik (PAT) President Dr Raheeq Abbasi has urged the ulema and mashaikhs to come out of their monasteries to work for the elimination of terrorism in the country. He was talking to a delegation of custodians of shrines and mashaikhs led by Pir Tahir Sajjad Zanjani which called on him at the party secretariat on Saturday. Dr Raheeq Abbasi said it was a matter of deep concern that Muslim Ummah in general and Pakistani nation in particular were facing a sharp decline because of absence of able and sincere leadership, and internal rifts. He said rulers were not interested in doing anything to lift the nation back up to the status it had enjoyed few decades before, thus allowing enemies to label Muslims as terrorists and extremists. Raheeq Abbasi said Dr Tahirul Qadri had worked on the perfect panacea for the malaise facing the nation and had spread a network of educational institutions to produce a generation which had sound ideologies and thoughts and believed in Ijtihad besides following ancestors. He said Dr Qadri was emphasising creating a balance between the faith and the world and between the east and west. He said it was high time that the nation should stand behind Dr Qadri to portray the real face of Islam and Pakistan before the world.
