LAHORE
CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that due to sacrifice of innocent children in Peshawar, the nation has united and such an exemplary display of unity and harmony is unprecedented in the history of Pakistan.
It is high time to take benefit from this historic opportunity and root out terror from the country. Army officers, Jawans, police officials and common citizens have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war on terror and more than 50,000 Pakistanis laid down their lives in this war which is unprecedented in the world history. Talking to PML-N parliamentarians here Tuesday, the chief minister said education, health, justice and socio-economic system were directly linked to peace and there was a need for all segments of society to come forward and play their role for the survival of Pakistan.
He said terror would soon be eradicated with national unity. He said it was time for speedy and effective measures against terror; therefore, the Punjab government had carried out legislation at provincial level for enhancing punishments while effective implementation of the
relevant laws was being ensured to deal with elements
involved in terror with an iron hand. He said a new history of the country would soon be written.
