Tevta has successfully trained 12,000 enrolled youth of 30 selected seminaries in eight years across Punjab.
This effort by Tevta to train youth at seminaries has started bringing tangible results. It has generated demand by a number of seminaries to establish such training centers at their premises.
According to a handout, Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh addressing a meeting to review progress of courses being offered in seminaries, said presently Tevta is imparting training male and female trainees of seminaries in 12 trades including electrician, motor winding, electrical wiring technician, home appliances repair, HVACR, mobilephone repair, electronics equipment repair, computer application, plumber, machine embroidery, machine & hand embroidery and domestic tailoring.
Tevta Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, General Manager (Operations) Hamid Ghani Anjum and other officers were also present on this occasion.
The Chairperson said technical training is also meeting the demand of skilled workers in the society, as well. Keeping in view the demand of seminaries for imparting technical training to their students at their premises, Tevta is planning to set up further 30 vocational training centres at seminaries.
A new lot of ten thousand students of seminaries would also get technical training in addition to their religious education, he concluded.
