AT LEAST six Grievances Redress Review Boards have been constituted to ensure merit and transparency during the ongoing process of recruitment of Constables in the police department.


Punjab IGP Khan Baig issued a circular to RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs in 14 districts of the province on Friday.


In this circular, the officers are directed to fully cooperate with these Boards during the review proceedings.


These Boards will visit different districts of the province from September 25 to September 30 to hear the appeals of complainants. The candidates, having any grievance, are directed to submit their complaints to the office of DPO concerned on prescribed form at least one day before the hearing. The dates regarding hearing of cases will be advertised in the print media to facilitate the complainants.


A retired district and session judge will be the Chairman of Board while a police officer will be member of Board.


District and Session Judge (retired) Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam will be the chairman of board and Additional-IG Sarmad Saeed Khan will be member of board in Attock, Jehlum, and Rawalpindi districts.


District and Session Judge (retired) Syed Maroof Ahmed Ali will be the Chairman and Additional-IG Special Branch Punjab Ahmed Raza Tahir will be board member in Gujranwala and Sheikhupura districts.


For Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad districts, District and Sessions Judge (retired) Abdul Hafeez will be the chairman and Commandant Punjab Constabulary Capt (retd) Zubair Ahmed will be member of the board.


For DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur districts, District and Session Judge (retired) Muhammad Saleem Qureshi will be the Chairman and DIG Aftab Ahmed Cheema will be member of the board.


District and Session Judge (retired) Malik Muhammad Afzal will be the chairman and DIG Muhammad Nawaz Waraich will be member of the board in Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. Similarly in Lahore, District and Session Judge (retired) Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf will be the chairman and Additional-IG (Investigation) Punjab Muhammad Amlish will be member of the board.


Meanwhile, Punjab IGP Khan Baig has nominated SP (Investigation) Civil Lines Lahore Imtiaz Sarwar as Focal Person to keep the media updated about the rape case of a five-year old girl in Mughalpura.
