PAC body wants action against XENs, SDOs over power theft
ISLAMABAD: The Sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) while expressing its strong annoyance over the power theft in the country asked for action against the SDOs and XENs of those areas where the power theft was going on.
The Sub-committee observed that if the power theft is stopped then the corruption will be eliminated among the officials of the power supply companies.
The meeting was held with the chair of its Convener Noor Alam Khan in which audit paras related to Power Division of the Ministry of Energy were examined. The Sub-committee expressed its strong annoyance over loadshedding on the excuse of the power theft.
It expressed annoyance over absence of senior officials of the Power Distribution Companies and remarked that the meeting of the committee was twice postponed due to absence of these senior officials and if they did not want to attend the meeting they should tell the committee.
Secretary Power Division told the sub-committee that the action has been started in Punjab after the registration of the FIR in those feeders where the power theft was going on.
