THE Lahore High Court on Friday rejected the unconditional apology of finance director of a beverage company Fayyaz Hussain who impersonated himself as FBR Tax Chief Dr Ashfaq Ahmed Tunio and placed his name on Exit Control List.

 

The court was hearing a case of local food and bakery chain against FBR and on July 19, finance director of a beverage company, Faisalabad Fayyaz Hussain appeared before the court and claimed to be FBR Tax Chief Dr Ashfaq.

 

On Friday, Fayyaz appeared before the court along with his counsel Abid Saqi and tendered unconditional apology, pleading that he had mistakenly done so. The court rejected his application and observed that the conduct of the applicant amounts to “criminal contempt. The unconditional apology submitted by the applicant is rejected and show cause notice for contempt is issued to the applicant and the next date is fixed for framing of the charge, the court order said.
