Kashmiri delegation briefed on policing in KP

PESHAWAR: A 23-member under trainee delegation of the Kashmir Institute of Management called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Mohammad Naeem Khan and attended a briefing on policing in the province.

Led by Brigadier (retd) Akhtar Hussain Shah, the delegation is on a country-wide study tour in connection with its professional course. The delegation was briefed by DIG Headquarters Muhammad Abid in detail with the help of charts about policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They were informed about the organizational structure, functioning and activities, police performance against criminals, militants, working condition and confronting challenges.

The members of the delegation were also briefed on the institutional reforms including the establishment of Counter-Terrorism Department, Rapid Response Force, K-9 Unit, bomb disposal units at regional level, geo-tagging, enactment of various laws, dispute resolution councils, police assistance lines, police access service and specialized schools.

The IGP informed the participants that earlier he was Inspector General of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said both the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir shared the same qualities of love and respect.

The IGP said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police training institutions were open to all who wanted to enhance capabilities in the field.
