THE Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced the results of all candidates appeared in Secondary School Examination 2013 here Thursday.

 

The Board has also dispatched their result cards to their residential addresses. A board official said those students whose result cards could not reach their residential addresses till August 04 could contact Assistant Controller Examinations (SSC) to Board’s office to get a new result card. He said no fee would be charged from those students who would apply for result cards within 60 days and after that fee would be charged for the same purpose. He said those students who wanted rechecking of their papers could submit applications to the Board’s office within 15 days after announcement of the results ie 25 July.

 

A total 210,145 candidates appeared in the SSC examination 2013 and among them 138,531 were declared successful. The percentage of pass candidates remained at 66.36.

 

In Science Group, 106,984 students appeared and 86,107 declared successful with 80 pass percentage. In Humanities Group, 103,161 candidates appeared and 52,424 declared successful with 51 pass percentage.

 

Meanwhile, the Board has also announced that SSC supplementary examination would start from September 12. Students can submit their application forms with single fee from July 26 to 12 August. With double fee students could submit their forms from August 13 to 16 and with triple fee; the Board will accept application forms from August 17 to August 20.

 

Position holders: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore organised an award distributing ceremony for the position holder students of Matriculation Examination 2013 here at Alhamra Hall Thursday.

 

PML-N central leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest on the occasion. Chairman Lahore Board Muhammad Nasrullah Virk and Secretary Higher Education Department Farhan Aziz Khawaja also participated in the event.

 

Kainaat Akram who bagged first position in Board’s overall exam was awarded Gold Medal, Laptop and Rs 20,000 cash while Second and Third Position holder students were awarded Silver and Bronze Medals and Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 cash each respectively. All students were also awarded with certificates.

 

Addressing the ceremony, Hamza Shahbaz said that position-holder students are precious asset and future of the nation. “There is no dearth of talent and potential in our youth which is evident from the fact the 3.5 million students of Punjab set 12 world records during Punjab Youth Festival last year. Our youth only need encouragement and fulfillment of their requirements”, Hamza said and added that Khadim-e-Ala (Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif) has made available all resources and basic facilities to new generation by upholding merit, distribution of laptops, foreign visits of position-holders, endowment fund worth Rs 10 billion and establishment of Danish schools. He said that educated youth is the guarantee of a prosperous future. He said that a workshop for position holders would be conducted at Murree which would continue for one week. Hamza Shahbaz also announced to establish a sports university in the province so as to prepare sportsmen of international standard. He said that as a nation we would have to promote culture of merit instead of recommendations to come up to the level of great nations of the world. He said that we should stop political scoring on national issues.
