Action against kite-flying ordered
LAHORE:DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir has directed all officers to take strict action against kite flying, selling and factories. All divisional SPs are directed to ensure the ban of kite flying in their respective areas at any cost. Police arrested 1,936 accused in 1,835 cases during this year. City Division arrested 362, Cantt Division 584, Civil Lines 100, Sadar Division 157, Iqbal Town 142 and Modal Town 591. “We have also extended cooperation with district and administration for crackdown on kite making factories without any discrimination. So many young boys have lost their lives in this dangerous play kite flying. Parents should have to play vital role to discourage their children to play this dangerous play to avoid such precious lives. Parents can also be subjected to any legal punishment for not stopping their children for kite flying. We can‘t allow any body to play this very harmful play. Divisional SPs are directed to make special monitoring teams to ensure the ban of kite flying, DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir said and added SPs will send daily report to this office regarding crackdown against kite flying.
249 outlaws arrested, arms seized: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), according to its weekly report issued here on Sunday, arrested 249 culprits including 79 POs and recovered 682-litre liquor, 20-kg charas, 4-kg hashish, 9 Kalashnikovs, 2 riffles, 19 guns, 35 pistols and 599 bullets.
PHP Post Riaz Abad apprehended two men Najam ul Hussain, Mahboob Alam and recovered stolen Shesham wood worth of Rs 4,90,200 from them. Patrolling Post Chak Deda foiled a dacoity after arrested 03 culprits and recovered 03 pistols, 03 magazines, 13 bullets from their possession. In other case, Patrolling Post Rama arrests 02 culprits who sit with intension of robbery. During this week Patrolling Police arrested 79 Proclaimed Offenders and 22 Court Absconders namely Mureed, Asghar, Mudasir, Wars, Atta Ullah, Sadique, Bahadur, M. Yaqoob, Saleem, Azhar, Rashid, Munawar, Nazar Hussain, Mansha, Yaqoob, Ghulam Rasool, Javed, Bashir, Younis, Allah Ditta, Nadeem, M. Akram, Allah Rakha, Javed, Baqar Ali, Altaf, M. Arif, Naeem, Mazhar, Khalid, Waheed, Amanullah, Nawaz, Akram, Waseem Masih, Nisar Ali, Imran, Akbar, Mushtaq Ahmad, Raja, Shafique, Shamim, Noor, Amjad, Kalu. Similarly, PHP team arrested 61 culprits namely, Farman, Faisal, Sabir, Shahzad, Ilyas, Naseem Bibi, Khizar, Mudasir, Abbas, Saqlain, Usman, Sabir, Ilyas, Mukhtar, Karam Hussain, Mohsin, Salahudin, Nawaz, Nazakat, Pervez, Razaq, Ashraf, Maqsood, Naeem, Saeed, Hamid, Salamat, Saqlain, Kalay Khan, Jabran, Atif, Ashraf, Imdad, Saleem, Azam, Nasir, Ayub, M Ali and Ashraf by taking into possession 682 liters liquor, 20681 grams Charas, 04-kg hashish as well as arrested 55 culprits namely Mudasar, Afzal, Rajib Ali, Muhammad Ameer, Saleem, Umar, Rehmat, Shefa Ullah, Fazl-ur-Rehman, Irfan, Naeem, Habeeb, Noor Hasan, Asif, Ejaz, Farhan, Asghar, Shafi, Azam, Ramazan, Rasheed, Aamir, Waseem, Sabir, Adnan, Raheem, Amir, Adnan, Rasheed, Kashif, Sartaj, Tasawer, Sheir, Allah Dita, Yasir, Hussain, Aziz and Raiz on having illicit arms and recovered 35 Pistols, 09 Kalashnikov, 02 Riffles, 19 Guns, 49 Cartages, 11 Magazine and 599 bullets from their possession. Furthermore, Patrolling Police arrested 25 accused gamblers namely Abdul Ghaffar, M. Shahid, Umer, Shahid, Afzal, Ajmal, Jameel, M. Aslam, Ahmad, M. Ashraf, Manzoor Hussain, Raheem bakhsh, Abdul Malik, Zahid, Mukhtar, Ghulam Yasin, Bakhsho, Latif, Saigal, Allah Nawaz, Ghulam Mohi ud Din, Fiaz, Awal Baig, Akbar, Rajab Ali from different places and seized Rs.85,610 in cash. During this week PHP team held 17 persons under flying Act and recovered 700 kites, 26 chemical rolls from them.
ARMS SEIZED: Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) of Lahore Police in their crackdowns arrested criminals and recovered 17 pistols, 2 rifles, 11 magazine and bullets. DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir directed SP Dolphin Squad Lahore Bilal Zafar to accelerate crackdown on criminals. SP Dolphins Squad Bilal Zafar while giving details of the weekly performance of both the wings said crime fighters of Dolphins Squad and PRU also recovered narcotics including 1-kg of charas and 31 bottles of liquor from the criminals. Dolphins and PRU helped as many as more than 1100 people on different roads of the city. Dolphin and PRU during vigorous and effective patrolling checked 2599 vehicles, more than 01 lakh 47 thousands motor bikes and more than 90 thousand people. As many as 20 vehicles and 2138 motor bikes were impounded in different police stations on incomplete documents whereas disciplinary action was taken against responsible people. Dolphins and PRU wings showed immediate response to the all 1557 calls received on helpline 15. Cars, 47 bikes, 12 mobile phones and thousands of rupees were recovered from the criminals during action. Dolphin Squad and PRU arrested 25 criminals for violating One Wheeling, 57 for Kite Flying and another 02 accused persons for violating Fire Arms Acts. Both Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested 20 TOs during last week crackdown.
