The Pakistan Muslim League Punjab general secretary and parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly Ch Zaheeruddin Khan on Sunday said the provincial government had crossed all limits of enmity towards employees by not paying salaries to the government servants of the Punjab on Eid.
In a statement issued here, Ch Zaheer said that the killer of happiness of eight hundred thousand families and their children should stop drama of calling himself as “Khadam-e-A’ala”, the faulty and defective policies of whom, he claimed, had resulted into economic destruction, affecting every home in the province.
He said it was a matter of grave concern that the Punjab chief minister had distributed “Eidi” worth Rs 1,30,00,000 among the employees on his personal service but deprived 800,000 government servants of salaries on Eid, terming it height of enmity towards employees. It never happened during the tenure of Ch Pervaiz Elahi that the government servants were deprived of their salaries ahead of Eid, he added. A the Public Accounts Committee chairman, he said, he had directed the Accountant General Punjab a number of times to ensure payment of salaries.
