An anti-corruption court on Tuesday sought the third time the case record from Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) by August 8 on post-arrest bail petition of the Punjab Livestock Department’s director-general Dr Muhammad Irfan accused of misappropriating Rs.478 million allocated for a milk processing plant at Layyah.

It is pertinent to mention that it is the third time that the court has directed the ACE representative to submit case record to pursue the said bail matter but he did not bother to comply with the court order.

However, the court sought record again and adjourned the case by August8 (today).

Former L&DD director general Dr Irfan Zahid and Idara-e-Kisan CEO Ameeruddin Bokhari and other arrested officers had filed a petition for bail.

The counsels for the L&DD officers, including Rana Ejaz Advocate, Talib Hussain Baloch, Mansoor Rehman Afridi and others told that the court because their clients were innocent and the ACE could not prove their link to the embezzlement of funds, so they should be granted bail.
