LAHORE

ALL special courts in Punjab, falling in the domain of the federal government, would observe six working days in a week, said a release issued by the Lahore High Court on Friday.

The judges of these courts would perform judicial work and hear cases on Saturday (today), it added.

The press release further said that the correspondence with the federal government on the matter was in progress. It is pertinent to mention here that employees of all these special courts/tribunals had been observing holiday on Saturdays as per directions of the federal government.

On the other side, the Lahore High Court had issued a directive that all the courts functioning in the province would observe six working days in a week and would not observe holiday on Saturdays. But the employees of these courts ignored the Lahore High Court directive and continued to observe holiday on Saturdays.
