District and Sessions Judge Nazeer Ahmed Ganjana on Tuesday issued orders to release 65 prisoners who were jailed on petty crimes as a goodwill gesture ahead of Eid.

The judge passed the order during his visit to district and Kot Lakhpatt jails. The judge, after hearing the prisoners’ grievances and complaints, ordered the jail superintendents to redress their genuine problems.

The superintendents of the jails briefed the judge about facilities and arrangements being made for the prisoners of the jail.

The judge also inspected food being provided to prisoners for Iftar and Sehr.

He directed the superintendents to resolve problems being faced by prisoners on priority basis.
