LAHORE

Judicial Magistrate Naqeeb Shahzad on Monday sent four doctors to jail on 14-day remand for allegedly committing criminal negligence of removing drip of an infant baby, which caused his death, just because they wanted to join the Young Doctors Association (YDA) strike.

On Monday, Gwalmandi Police produced YDA Punjab Joint Secretary Dr Usman-ul-Haq, YDA Mayo Hospital president Dr Matloob, YDA Mayo Hospital general secretary Dr Tajamal Butt and Dr Adil before magistrate’s court and sought extension in their physical remand to carry out further investigation.

However, the court sent all the accused to jail, with directions police to submit challan against them as soon as possible.
