A 35-year-old security guard was killed by some unidentified suspects in the Islampura police limits on Saturday. Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case against unidentified suspects. The victim was identified as Zahid, a resident of Defence. He was serving as a watchman at the Haveli of one Mahmood situated on Chohan Road, Islampura, for the last six months.

 

On Saturday early, Zahid and his friend Goga were sleeping at the Haveli when unidentified killers approached him and opened an indiscriminate fire. As a result, the victim died instantly. A police official said victim’s wife had fled with her paramour six months back and her involvement was being suspected in the murder. However, investigations will unearth the motive behind the killing, he added.

 

Body found: The body of a 50-year-old unidentified man was found in the canal in Hurbanspura police limits on Saturday morning. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and suspected that some unidentified persons had strangled him. Local police reached the scene and recovered the body. Announcements were also made for his identification but nobody turned up to claim. A police official said the victim apparently belonged to a well-off family. No marks of torture or injury were found on his body, he added. He further said that autopsy would determine the cause of death.

 

found dead: A 30-year-old man was recovered dead under mysterious circumstances from Lawrence Road in the Civil Lines police limits on Saturday. A local spotted the man lying dead and informed the police which removed the body to morgue.

 

A police official said the deceased was apparently a drug addict and died of excessive use of drugs. However, the cause of death would be determined in autopsy. Mastermind: Officials of a sensitive agency claimed to have arrested the mastermind of different suicide attacks and shifted him to unknown location for further interrogation.

 

However, Lahore Police have expressed ignorance about any such arrest. It has been learnt that the arrested accused was identified as Qari Azmat. merrymakers: Sabzazar police arrested 10 persons, including five girls, involved in merrymaking at a brothel on Saturday early. Police have registered a case against the accused and recovered sex medicies from their possession.
