A TWO-member bench of the Supreme Court on Friday disposed of a contempt of court petition against the Auqaf secretary and asked the petitioner to file the same again in the Lahore High Court.

Petitioner Rana Muhammad Attique contended that LHC had not passed an explicit order on earlier contempt petition despite the fact that it had set aside department’s notification pertaining to closure of shrines after Isha prayers. But the Auqaf department is continuously flouting court’s order and pilgrims are not allowed to visit shrines at nights. The bench comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and Justice Ijaz Ahmad Ch disposed of the petition and directed the petitioner to approach the LHC.
