An anti-terrorism court remanded a schoolteacher accused of harassing and filming his female students to police custody on a four-day physical remand on Friday.
Accused Parvaiz Ahmed was arrested on Thursday after scores of parent and students held a protest demonstration outside the Future Foundation School situated near the met office, off University Road. The parents were chanting slogans against the school management for failing to take action against the teacher who was guilty of filming and harassing female students.
The parents then went on to register a case at the Mubina Town police station. The police had arrived at the school premises on Thursday morning but they ended up arresting the wrong teacher. Later Parvaiz Ahmed was spotted by one of the protesting parents and was then taken into custody. The police complaint was lodged by Mirza Arshad Mehmood, father of a ninth-grade student.
He also accused the school principal, Farah Naz Rashid, of being complicit in forcing female students to seek sexual favours and filming them but she denied all the allegations, also those against the accused.
