Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is likely to arrive in Karachi today to chair a meeting about law and order and the ongoing targeted operation at the Governor House.
However, immediately after his arrival in the city, the premier will first attend a function at the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant where he will inaugurate the construction of 1,100-megawatt K-II nuclear power near Paradise Point.
The prime minister will then go to the Governor House to preside over a top-level meeting on law and order which would discuss the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi and other aspects of the prevailing security situation.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is expected to brief the prime minister on the progress and achievements of the targeted operation being carried out by law-enforcement agencies in Karachi. On the occasion, the premier is also expected to approve the future strategy pertaining to the targeted operation against criminals and terrorists.
A day earlier on Wednesday, the director-general of Sindh Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar met Sindh chief minister and discussed with him the law and order situation of the city and related matters.
On the same day, the chief minister also met Air-Vice Marshal Farooq Habib, the deputy chief of Air Staff (training) Air Headquarters Islamabad, who visited him at the CM House.
