The media took advantage of the presence of the BIEK chairman Muhammad Akhtar Ghori and fired a volley of hard-hitting questions at him for not being available for comments and his academic qualification.
Members of the media asked him that how come he, with only a BSc degree could hold the post, when the government had advertised and invited applications for the post of chairmen of examination boards for Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions while clearly stating that aspiring candidates must have a PhD degree or at least a masters’ degree with over 17 years of teaching and administrative experience.
The BIEK chairman was also asked about the presence of four ‘newcomers’ who had arrived with him at the ceremony but the reasons for ‘inducting’ them in the board were still unclear. He was also blamed for spending large amount of funds for renovating his office and the ‘newcomers’.
He was categorically asked if he did so with his own money or was misusing his authority as the BIEK chairman. Ghori was also asked to clarify why his favourite ‘four’ had air conditioners in their rooms when a number of employees of BPS-17 did not avail the same facility. However, the BIEK chairman asked members of the media to concentrate on the current agenda saying that it was not the proper occasion for such questions.
