Removal of encroachments from MA Jinnah Road ordered

Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Cooperation Roshan Ali Shaikh has ordered clearing encroachments from MA Jinnah Road between Jamia Cloth Market and Tower.
During a visit to District South on Monday along with DMC South Administrator Mir Farooq, DG Technical Services Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Sr Director Municipal Services Masood Alam and other officers, he also called for a cleanliness drive on a Clifton road and a tree plantation along the coastal belt.
The administrator said citizens in large numbers visited Jamia Cloth Market and Tower for shopping and therefore for their ease all encroachments alongside the corridor must be removed. He also instructed his subordinates to improve the condition of roads and footpaths and take more measures for tree plantation in Clifton and other coastal areas.

Fumigation work
Following the directives of the administrator, fumigation began in the city on Monday.
According to a statement, the spray work was performed in District South, while a fumigation drive will be carried out in Lyari on July 7 and in Keamari on July 8. The spray drives in District West is scheduled on July 9, in District East on July 13, in District Central on July 15, in District Korangi on July 23 and in District Malir on July 27.
A total of 60 vehicles will be used for sprays in the city with two spray vehicles allocated for each area.

Iftari for city wardens
The KMC administrator directed the financial adviser to devise a transparent and speedy payment mechanism for giving an Iftar allowance to city wardens.
He said the city wardens were a valued asset of the KMC as they served the citizens exceptionally well especially during Ramazan.
