With a rigorous campaign against political wall-chalking underway in Karachi, Sindh Local Government Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that any commercial entity resorting to such advertising tactics would be liable to face legal action.

He said this was being done as these unwanted wall-chalking spread hatred among different political and religious parties.
The minister added this exercise was being done first time in the history of the city to minimise political hatred and differences.
Memon maintained that the wall-chalking give a bad look to the city and it has also been ordered that now commercial entity publicizing this way will be liable for action.
He declared that now attractive paintings will be visible on all major roads of the city.
He also announced that tree plantation campaign was also being started all over Karachi and around one million saplings will be planted during the campaign.
Memon said the plantation task has been given to the metropolitan corporation and all towns will participate in the drive, which would complete by August.
Answering to a question, he agreed to it that tree plantation drive may aggravate the ongoing water crisis, but said it will be managed.
He pointed out that greener Karachi might also attract rainfall as it was a principle that trees are also the source of rainfall.
Meanwhile, KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Sheikh talking to The News at his office said, “We have already started the tree plantation.” He said all the concerned departments have been issued directives in this regard. Sheikh said all towns will comply with the orders of the minister.
