Three suspects, including a police sub-inspector, were arrested as the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized nearly 3 tonnes of high quality hashish and opium in raids on Thursday.
According to the ANF, 2,758 kilograms of hashish and 55 kilograms of opium were recovered in an intelligence based operation. An ANF team intercepted a bus on the Hub River road and recovered the contraband and apprehended three criminals. Cases have been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to apprehend the syndicate involved, the ANF added.
