It is the prime responsibility of a university to initiate research activities, keeping in view of this objective we have decided to launch a regular research journal along with a PhD programme at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), Karachi campus.
These were the announcements made by President MAJU, Karachi Chapter, Professor Dr Abdul Wahab on Monday, while addressing an orientation session of the faculty members of MAJU on Monday. He declared that in the ambition to promote research at MAJU, seven more PhD scholars are being inducted in teaching faculty of Marketing, Human Resources, Mathematics, English, Finance, Sociology and Computer Science departments. Dr Wahab also congratulated the four faculty staffers who completed their respective MS in Finance, Islamic Banking, Human Resource and Marketing. He urged the faculty members to pursue further studies in their interested study programme.
Dr Wahab lamented that where a very scarce amount is allocated in our national budget for education sector, it is also observed that the academicians are not also putting the required efforts. The MAJU president asked the fellow teachers to refrain from imposing their opinions on students, rather convince them on a polite note at open discussion forums. He also requested them to avoid grating reactions when coming across irrelevant questions or any incivility from the students.
“Tackle the situation sensibly through dialog; it is our duty to give respect to students instead of humiliating them so that we may provide competent and confident people to the society who may do something extra ordinary when stepping in the professional life,” Dr Wahab said.
