The prime objective of educational institutions should be to focus on producing competent students who could actually make significant contributions for betterment in the country.
These observations were made by Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) President Professor Dr Abdul Wahab while addressing teachers and students of the Punjab Group of Colleges in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
“A majority of Pakistan’s educational institutes have simply failed to deliver, largely due to lack of proper planning. However, in a bid to cover up their shortcomings, most of them stick with excuses such as shortage of funds,” said Prof Wahab.
He urged all faculty members and students to not be disheartened by such truths. “All great people in history overcame hard times before tasting success. A person who works to overcome his or her problems will always have a stronger personality,” he said. Dr Muhammad Asghar Chudhary, director of the Punjab Group of Colleges, and MAJU’s exams controller, Tariq Ahmad, were present on the occasion.
