The electricity crisis in Sindh might aggravate further since 12 different independent power plants have not been paid more than Rs1 billion by the federal government, The News learnt from reliable sources on Friday.
The companies generate 189 mega watts of power collectively and have not been paid by the federal government for the past four months.
The companies have warned the Sindh government that if the amount was not paid immediately they would stop working.
Sources said that the provincial finance minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has informed his federal counterpart, Khawaja Asif, of the issue.
