Three suspected Taliban terrorists were gunned down in a shootout with police in Ittehad Town on Sunday night. Two policemen also suffered injuries.
SP Baldia Ijaz Hashmi said Ittehad Town police were patrolling near D-11 bus stop in Ittehad Town in a van when some terrorists hurled a grenade on their vehicle injuring constables Majeed and Ali Raza.
The policemen opened fire on them and after a gun battle three terrorists were injured and taken into custody while their associates managed to escape.
The injured terrorists were taken to the Civil hospital where they expired.
The official said the terrorists were yet to be identified. However, he added, they were probably members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. They were found in possession of pistols and grenades.

Man found dead in Manghopir
A man was found dead in Manghopir. Mohammad Waseem, 30, was found dead in the Ghazi Goth area with bullet wounds on his body.
SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai said the body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A pistol was found lying next to the body.
A family approached the police and identified Waseem. The victim lived in Sector-9 of Orangi Town and had left home on Sunday morning.
Police investigators said the case appeared to be that of a suicide but the autopsy report would provide further clues.

Rangers raids
Rangers arrested eight suspects allegedly involved in heinous crimes in raids conducted in Chakra Goth and Baldia Town.
Rangers also conducted raids in Chappal Sun City, Ittehad Town, Kanwari Colony, Martin Quarters and Agra Taj Colony and rounded up 12 suspected believed to be target killers, gangsters and Taliban terrorists.
The suspects were found in possession of weapons.

Four terrorists shot dead
Four suspected militants of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were killed in an operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Ittehad Town late on Saturday night.
As per details, a raid was carried out in the locality after on a tip-off regarding the presence of militants. CTD In-charge DSP Ali Raza said the ensuing encounter lasted a little over half-an-hour and resulted in serious injuries to four suspects. Their accomplices, however, managed to escape.
He said the four men were being shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi but succumbed to their wounds en route. The official claimed that weapons and explosives had been seized from the suspects, who are believed to have been involved in several bombings and target killings in the past.

Rao Anwaar attack
An FIR regarding Saturday’s attack on former SSP Malir Rao Anwaar was registered with the Steel Town police.
At least five alleged terrorists were killed in the incident as the SSP and his guards successfully repelled the attackers.
The Steel Town police, on behalf of the state, registered a case – No 130/15 under sections 3/4, 302/34, 353/324 and section 7 of the ATA.

One dead in road crash
A young man was killed and five others were injured in a dumper-car collision in the Bin Qasim area on Sunday.
Muhammad Waseem, 23, and his five family members, including woman and children, were injured, when a speeding dumper collided with their car on the National Highway when they were on their way back to Thatta.
After the accident, the dumper driver managed to flee the scene leaving his vehicle abandoned. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where during treatment Waseem breathed his last. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for legal formalities. Later area police reached the spot and seized both the vehicles.
