The public gathering of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Lyari today will ascertain and establish its popularity among the people of Karachi.
This was stated by PPP’s provincial information secretary and chief minister’s coordinator Waqar Mehdi on Saturday.
He said the public meeting will not only be a power show of the PPP but will also reflect undeterred love of masses, especially the people of Lyari, for the party.
Mehdi said Lyariites will prove today that they are the successors of the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto and will be the arms of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
He said since the Kakri ground had comparatively limited space to accommodate millions of PPP workers, all lanes, streets and parks of Lyari will also be occupied.
Meanwhile, the secretary-general of PPP’ Karachi division, Syed Najmi Alam, said the rally will be a befitting response to the forces who had dreamt of limiting the party just to a district.
