A shopkeeper was arrested and 43 more were fined a collective amount of Rs86,500 for charging excessive prices on Thursday.
As per details, raids were carried out in Liaquatabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, New Karachi, Shah Faisal, Saddar, Aram Bagh, Civil Lines, Garden, Jamshed Quarters, Orangi Town, Malir and Korangi.
The operations are underway on the directives of the city commissioner and he reiterated his desire to keep up such efforts until the practice of profiteering was completely rooted out.
