A total of 1,608 students of graduate and undergraduate programme were awarded degrees at the 7th convocation of Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education (DIHE) held on Wednesday.
Addressing the students, Chief Guest MPA Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani said that the role of universities, apart from imparting knowledge, is to make students better and productive citizens.
He commended the efforts undertaken by the DIHE in providing quality education to the masses not only in Karachi but in interior parts of Sindh also and appreciated the opening new departments by the university.
Chairman DIHE Abdullah Dadabhoy said that higher education has now become a tool of economic growth and since 2005 the institute has been producing quality graduates who are contributing positively in various fields for country’s economic growth.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Rector Prof. Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi said that the DIHE is well aware of its responsibilities towards research, academic rigour and other forms of creative endeavours which were essential for sustained intellectual growth of any higher educational institution. She said that 2015 will mark the ground-breaking of Dadabhoy University at Hawksbay.
