Karachi
University Road near Safari Park has been under sewage for the past three days, but the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have taken no action.
The sewerage system near the Samama Shopping Centre flyover, like in many other parts of the city, is in shambles.
Sewage has been flowing on the both tracks of the road and also where the flyover starts, causing immense problems for commuters and pedestrians.
All this mess has taken place when a month-long drive, started by the Sindh local government department to make the city clean and healthy, is going on.
Residents of the area have demanded from the KMC, the KWSB and other civic agencies concerned to take notice of the miserable situation, saying that the standing sewage is also spreading diseases among thousands of visitors, including women and children, to the Safari Park.
