Lawyers in the city observed black day on Thursday to express their condemnation for the 21st constitutional amendment allowing establishment of military courts in the country on the call of Pakistan Bar Council.
Though the legal fraternity did not boycott courts, Karachi Bar Association and Malir Bar Association both protested silently with black armbands without disturbing or stopping any proceedings in high, subordinate or anti-terrorism courts.
However, attendance in courts remained short on account of the strike being observed in the city on the call of Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
