The coordination committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has reiterated its demand to arrest Lal Masjid chief Moulana Abdul Aziz, claiming that the facility is a safe haven for suicide bombers and terrorists.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the committee claimed that the suicide bomber who blew himself up in the Wah area was a student of Islamabad’s Lal Masjid. It asked from the supporters of Lal Masjid the reason they continued to support and provide shelter to terrorists. The party has also lodged an FIR against Lal Masjid chief Maulana Abdul Aziz on charges of threatening the MQM chief Altaf Hussain. The MQM chief had demanded from the intelligence agencies and the army to demolish the Lal Masjid and close Jamia Hafsa after Maulana Aziz declared the Peshawar school attack a reaction from terrorists.
