Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Wednesday announced holding a ‘million march’ on January 25 against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in a French satirical magazine.
Presiding over a meeting of the party’s sub-organisations at Jamia Masjid Al-Huda, he announced that the march would be held on University Road near Hasan Square and would be addressed by the party chief Siraj-ul-Haq.
Demonstrations outside various mosques would also be held after the Friday prayers whereas camps would be set up in different areas of the city.
During the meeting, Naeem directed members and office bearers to effectively mobilise labourers, businessmen, lawyers, doctors, journalists, ulema and students for the march.
