LAHORE: The spokesman for Punjab chief minister, Dr Shahbaz Gill, has said the PML-N is doing politics on the health of Nawaz Sharif.
Politicizing March 23 and threatening to stage a sit-in is unfathomable, he said in a statement on Friday. He alleged that Maryam Nawaz intended to get political mileage by telling lies on the health of her father. “She should not violate the sanctity of Pakistan Day and people should not be misled through politics,” he added.
On his reaction to a video-statement on the tweet of Maryam Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif, Gill said the doctors had checked the blood pressure of Nawaz Sharif in jail which was 90/140. “Nawaz is
quite fit. He today ate eggs, Aalo gosht and rice and walked as per his routine. He complained to the jail doctor yesterday about toothache and the senior dental surgeon treated him in the jail today,” he added.
“If Nawaz Sharif has any complication, he can get himself treated in any hospital which has been offered to him earlier,” the spokesman said. “However, he has not shared with jail officials and doctors about his kidney pain,” he added. He said the jail doctors had requested him for samples of blood and urine tests and former prime minister asked them to take the samples in the evening.
“The blood and urine samples have been sent to the lab as per jail SOPs. If Maryam Nawaz wants to stage a sit-in outside the jail, then she can do it at will. The government will provide a tent, water and other facilities. However, she should realize that her brothers Hassan and Hussain would not be in the sit-in but I will definitely reach there to provide facilities,” concluded Gill.
