Special Olympics squad greeted on winning 30 medals
LAHORE: Pakistan contingent offered extraordinary performance in Special Olympics World Summer Games 2019 organized at Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan athletes clinched 30 medals including nine gold medals in the grand event. DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar, on Wednesday, has congratulated members of Pakistan contingent for their outstanding performance in UAE.
“The members of Pakistan contingent got top level training at SBP’s sports venues such as State of the Art International Swimming Complex, athletics tartan track, gymnasiums and cycling velodrome at Nishtar Park Sports Complex”. Meanwhile, SBP coaches conducted boys and girls athletics trials at Punjab Football Stadium on Wednesday.
The selected boys and girls athletics team will represent Lahore division in the upcoming 72nd Punjab Games 2019 scheduled to be organised from 3rd to 6th April, 2019 at Nishtar Park Sports Complex. Girls’ basketball and handball trials were also held at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall and Lahore College for Women University, Jail Road respectively under the supervision of qualified SBP coaches.
