The police are still clueless about the whereabouts of the bodies of Lyari gangsters Arshad Pappu, Yasir Arafat and Shera Pathan. The three men were reportedly hacked to death in the troubled town of Lyari a day earlier.

“We don’t know anything about them as yet,” Lyari SP Najam Tareen said on Monday. The SP, leading a Rangers team, went in search of the bodies all over the Lyari Division without success.

Tareen said announcements were also made at an open gathering at the people’s stadium, where the citizens of the neighbourhood were present.“No one came forward with any information about the bodies of the slain people,” he said. “Most of them denied witnessing any offence.”

Pappu was believed to be staying alone at a house near Pankha Hotel in Shershah.Pappu along with his two accomplices was present at his house in the Pankha Hotel area late Saturday night when his younger brother Yasir Arafat and Shera Pathan visited him, where they were about to take dinner. In the meantime, some members of a rival gang barged into the house, kidnapped them at gunpoint and took them to Afshani Gali in Kalakot, police said.
