Karachi

Tuesday was a lucky day for the Sindh chief minister and he took over the charge of more than 13 provincial ministries.

With the resignations of 12 Muttahida Qaumi Movement ministers accepted, Qaim Ali Shah now has 20 portfolios – even more than the notorious Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who also holds a number of ministries.

The chief minister was holding nine portfolios before the resignations were accepted on Tuesday.

The chief minister had earlier withdrawn the Excise and Taxation ministry from the ruling Pakistan People’s Party lawmaker Mukesh Chawla, handing him the charge of commerce and industries.

But the notification was recalled. The portfolio of Special Education also shifted to the Sindh chief minister as PPP minister Rafiq Engineer passed away on Tuesday.
